Visiting the Netherlands always feels like coming home, but this trip was extra special. I had the opportunity to slow down, reconnect with loved ones, and capture something deeply personal—portraits of my grandma and grandpa.
As a photographer, I spend so much time helping others freeze beautiful memories in time. But this session reminded me why it’s so important to do the same for my own family. These two have shaped generations with their love, and I knew I wanted to honor that with photographs we’ll cherish for years to come.

A Location Full of Meaning
We chose a quiet spot not far from my mom’s house—an old Dutch windmill nestled among green grass and open skies. It’s the kind of place that feels peaceful the moment you arrive. In fact, it’s one of my mom’s favorite places to unwind, and now it holds even more meaning for me too.
The windmill, with its timeless charm, made the perfect backdrop for something as heartfelt as this session. It wasn’t a busy shoot, and that’s exactly what made it so beautiful. Just the three of us, laughing, sharing memories, and soaking in the moment.

Stepping in Front of the Camera
I don’t often get in the frame, but this time I did. And I’m so glad. Being in a photo with my grandparents—who have poured so much love into our family—felt like something I couldn’t pass up. These portraits will live in my albums, on my walls, and in my heart.
Sometimes we wait too long to take pictures with the people we love. We think there will be another time, a better time. But now is the time. This moment matters just as much as any milestone.
Legacy in Every Frame
This session was about more than capturing faces. It was about capturing legacy—of love, of strength, and of family roots that continue to grow across generations and across oceans. My grandparents have supported me through every chapter of life, and it meant the world to finally give them a photo session of their own.

A Personal Reminder
If you’ve been thinking of scheduling a session with your grandparents, parents, or extended family—don’t wait. You’ll never regret the time you spent together or the photos you’re left with afterward.
These are the moments that fill our albums—and our hearts.
