Kimberley A Family I’m Always Grateful to Photograph
This family has been part of my photography journey for a few years now, and every time I photograph them, it feels special. I absolutely love working with them — especially their boys, who bring so much energy, curiosity, and joy into every session. Watching them grow year after year has been such a gift.
For this session, there was something extra meaningful added to the mix: their grandpa was visiting, and mom wanted to make sure this time together was documented.
Including Generations Matters
I was so moved watching these boys interact with their grandpa. The way they hugged him, laughed with him, and stayed close to him throughout the session was incredibly sweet. These moments can’t be recreated — they happen naturally, often without us realizing just how special they are.
That’s why I always emphasize the importance of generational photos. One day, these images won’t just be meaningful to the parents — they’ll be cherished by children and grandchildren who look back and see where they came from and who loved them.
A Location Close to My Heart
They chose a location I haven’t photographed at very often, but it’s one of my personal favorites. It actually holds a very special place in my heart — it’s where I had my very first photo session with my husband after I moved to the United States. Being there again brought back so many memories for me.
There was something really beautiful about photographing this family’s story in a place that holds such personal meaning in my own life. It made the entire session feel even more full-circle.
Letting Moments Unfold Naturally
As always, we kept things relaxed. The boys explored, laughed, and led the pace of the session. Grandpa leaned right into the experience, soaking up every minute with his grandsons. There was no forcing or rushing — just connection, presence, and genuine emotion.
These are the kinds of sessions that remind me why family photography matters so much. It’s not about perfect posing — it’s about preserving relationships, seasons, and stories.
Why These Photos Will Matter Later
One day, these boys will look back at these images and see the way their grandpa held them, laughed with them, and showed up for them. And that alone makes sessions like this priceless.
