Kimberley Watching This Family Grow
I’ve been fortunate and truly honored to photograph the M. Family for a few years now. Getting to see their family expand and watching their boys grow has been such a gift. Their personalities continue to shine more each year — kind, curious, and full of life in such natural ways.
Every time I photograph them, it feels familiar and comfortable, like picking up right where we left off.
Keeping It Simple and Close to Home
For this session, the parents wanted something easy and close to home — not overly planned, just a space where their boys could be themselves. That alone already sets a session up for success. When kids feel comfortable and unpressured, they relax and the best moments naturally happen.
Letting the Kids Lead
The boys brought so much energy into this session. They ran, laughed, explored, and honestly just had a great time. Instead of rushing or redirecting them constantly, we followed their pace — and that made all the difference.
I truly believe that when we meet kids where they are and allow space for movement and play, sessions flow more naturally. The laughter feels real. The smiles aren’t forced. And the photos reflect that.
Why This Session Worked So Well
The parents are so laid back and easygoing, and that calm energy carries into every session. They trusted the process, trusted their kids, and allowed the moments to unfold naturally. Combined with one of my favorite locations and beautiful light, everything came together in the easiest way.
Sessions like this are such a reminder that simple is often best — and that following the kids’ lead almost always leads to success.
