Every now and then, I photograph a family that reminds me exactly why I love what I do. This maternity session at Cypress Point Park was one of those moments. The light was soft, the breeze was gentle, and this expecting couple brought such a calm, loving energy that made everything flow effortlessly.
They were so easy to work with — laid back, flexible, and completely in tune with each other. You could feel their connection before they even spoke. From the way they laughed together to the small moments of tenderness between poses, it was clear how much love they share.
A Gorgeous Wardrobe and a Willing Spirit
One of the best parts of this session was seeing mom’s excitement when she tried on two beautiful gowns from our maternity client closet. She chose styles that fit her personality perfectly — elegant but comfortable, with just the right touch of softness and grace.
I love when clients take advantage of the client closet because it gives them the freedom to show up relaxed, knowing I’ll have beautiful wardrobe options ready to go. She trusted the process completely and let me guide the session creatively, which always leads to the best results.
And just when I thought the session couldn’t get any better, she agreed to get in the water for a few final shots. The results were stunning — gentle waves, glowing light, and a mother completely embracing this chapter of her life.
The Beauty of Cypress Point Park
Cypress Point Park has become one of my favorite locations in Tampa. It’s incredibly versatile, offering everything from greenery and open fields to beautiful waterfront views. The light there has a certain warmth that adds depth and serenity to every image.
Whether it’s a maternity, family, or couples session, the park always gives us something unique to work with. For this session, it gave us calm water, soft skies, and the perfect space for authentic connection.
A Love That Speaks Without Words
What stood out most about this couple wasn’t just how beautiful they looked — it was how they treated each other. You can tell a lot about people by how they interact when they think no one’s paying attention.
Throughout the session, dad was attentive, patient, and quietly aware of every little cue from mom — offering a hand, helping her with her dress, making her laugh. That kind of care and respect says everything. Watching them together, I couldn’t help but think how lucky their baby will be to have parents who already love so deeply and work as a team so naturally.
A Session Filled with Meaning
As a photographer, it’s those unplanned, in-between moments that mean the most — the ones where people forget the camera and just exist in their love. This evening was full of them.
