Meeting a Family That Feels Like Home
Every time I meet a family for a photo session, I am reminded of the incredible power of connection and storytelling through photography. Recently, I had the pleasure of welcoming back a truly special family to my studio for another memorable session.
I first met this wonderful family last year when they reached out to inquire about a photo session. They had chosen an outdoor location filled with vibrant graffiti and murals, which happens to be one of my all-time favorite spots. I was beyond excited to meet them, and from the very first moment, we clicked! Our conversations flowed effortlessly, and it felt like I was spending time with old friends. We discussed so many different aspects of life, sharing stories and laughs. The connection was instant and deep, and I knew this was going to be more than just another photo shoot.
A Warm Welcome to My Studio
Fast forward to this year, they decided to have their session in my studio. I was thrilled to have them back, and even more so because they wanted to experience the cozy ambiance of my creative space. Despite mom and dad not being very mobile, they braved the stairs to get to my studio. Their determination and positive energy were incredibly inspiring, and their support was evident when they saw how much I’ve transformed the space to make it feel like home for all my clients.
What touched me the most was their reaction to my welcome sign on the door. I had included a picture from their last session—a moment that has remained one of my favorites to date. It was a beautiful surprise for them, and they were genuinely touched. The joy and pride they expressed made me feel so appreciated and confirmed the significance of capturing these moments for families to cherish for years to come.
A Family Tradition of Love and Togetherness
It’s truly heartwarming to see how much they value these sessions. They come together every year, traveling from different cities and even countries, to spend quality time together and ensure these photo sessions happen. This commitment speaks volumes about the importance they place on family, memories, and the lasting impact of photography.
During this recent session, they looked stunning in their chosen outfits. The colors were perfect, complementing each other beautifully and adding vibrance to the photographs. Their love and bond radiated in every frame, making my job as a photographer an absolute joy. I cannot wait to see them again next year and am eager to find out what new location they will choose. I feel so fortunate to be a part of their journey, capturing their stories and preserving these precious moments.
Why I Love What I Do
Families like this remind me why I do what I do. It’s not just about taking photos; it’s about creating memories, fostering connections, and celebrating life’s beautiful moments. I am so grateful to have met them and to have the opportunity to document their journey each year.

Beautiful family photo shoot Kimberly. And your goal was achieved. They look relaxed and as if they were just at home having fun together!
Once again you have captured a beautiful family. I agree the fact that you are able to help them create many memories is a plus within itself. I live your work :0)
This is a beautiful story. I love that you make connections with your clients on both a professional and personal level. I seldom notice this kind of client-business owner relationship, which is exceptional
These photos are amazing. My family and I definitely need a family reunion photoshoot. We have been through so much but are still together and slowly rebuilding.
Kimberly, you are an excellent family photographer. The family portraits turned out incredible. It’s good to know that after an outdoor shoot, they returned to you for an indoor shoot. Alos, I love that they chose bright colours to wear.
Hi Kim, I used to work with a pretty famous photographer. He loved people and felt how much people value family sessions, but he wasn’t able to like them. It’s great that everyone is good at something.
All these photos turned out absolutely stunning! I love how a photo can capture a moment at time. I really need to schedule another photo shoot with my family. Each day is a gift!
Nnniiiccceeee….the resemblance of momma and her ladies is very beautiful! The light contrast is so welcome here as it takes us back in time, with that family photo.
This was such a wonderful photo shoot! You captured this families essence of love.
This family looks stunning and their outfits are great. Love the connection created from the Photo sessions.
