A Beautiful Family Tradition at Cypress Point Park

A Family I’ve Been Lucky to Grow With

Every now and then, I have sessions that remind me how lucky I am to do what I do — and this family is one of them. They’ve been with me for many years, and every time they return, it feels less like a photo session and more like spending time with friends.

Watching their boys grow up has been such a privilege. They’re smart, kind, and full of life — and I genuinely enjoy my conversations with them. There’s something so special about photographing the same family year after year, seeing not just how they’ve changed, but also how their bond has deepened.

Choosing the Perfect Spot

This year, they chose Cypress Point Park, and I couldn’t have been happier. It’s one of my favorite locations in Tampa because it offers so much variety — from open fields and palm-lined paths to sandy shores and soft golden light. The setting always feels peaceful and inviting, which fits this family perfectly.

I love that they trust me to guide their sessions, but what I love even more is that they’ve made this a family tradition. Every year, they come together to update their photos for their holiday cards, and every year, they find new beauty in the Florida landscape.

Easygoing Energy and Genuine Connection

What makes this family such a joy to photograph is how relaxed and natural they are. They don’t overthink it — they just show up, have fun, and let things unfold. The boys are full of personality and always bring their own spark to the session, whether that’s laughter, curiosity, or just pure joy.

The parents have such a calm, grounded presence that keeps everything flowing easily. You can feel their love and respect for each other in every moment. That energy sets the tone and makes the whole session feel effortless.

Capturing More Than Just Photos

What I love about returning families like this one is that the photos start to tell a bigger story. They’re not just individual sessions — they become chapters in a family’s life. From the early years with little ones running around to the growing confidence of kids who’ve spent years in front of my camera, every session adds to the story of who they are together.

It’s such an honor to be invited back year after year to document those moments. These are the kinds of relationships that make photography so meaningful to me.

Florida Beauty and Family Traditions

Florida has a way of showing off in the early hours, and Cypress Point Park was breathtaking that morning. The quiet calm, the soft light peeking over the water, and the stillness in the air created such a peaceful atmosphere. There’s something special about sunrise sessions — the world feels slower, softer, and somehow more intimate. It couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for this family.

I love that this family embraces the outdoors and appreciates what our local parks have to offer. Every session we’ve done has reflected not only their love for each other but also their appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds them.

A Session to Remember

By the end of our time together, I found myself smiling behind the camera more than once. I couldn’t help but think about how far we’ve all come since our first session together. Watching their kids grow and their family stay so close-knit is something I’ll never take for granted.

It’s always a joy to capture their love, laughter, and connection — and I’m already looking forward to next year’s session.
